"Pigmenttien kieli: miten ne minulle puhuvat?"

Vuorovaikutteinen matka pigmenttien maailmaan

Tervetuloa mukaan matkalle pigmenttivärien maailmaan, jossa värit heräävät eloon ja maalausprosessi avautuu oman luovuuteni ytimeen. Viime kesästä lähtien olen sukeltanut syvälle itsevalmistettujen pigmenttimaalien lumoihin, jättäen perinteiset akvarellit ja öljyvärit enemmän taka-alalle. Pigmentit ovat avain kaikkien värien alkulähteille, mutta niiden ainutlaatuinen ominaisuus on mahdollisuus luoda omia maaleja.

Oma matkani pigmenttimaalien pariin alkoi kuvataideopintojen myötä, kun tutustuin pigmentteihin ja niiden erilaisiin sidosaineisiin. Perinteiset sidosaineet eivät kuitenkaan tuntuneet sopivan minun taiteelliseen visiooni. Halusin maalatessani sulautua osaksi prosessia, jossa keho ja mieli kohtaavat, unohtaen kaiken suunnitelmallisuuden. Pigmenttimaalit tarjosivat tämän mahdollisuuden.

Valmistettuani maalin pigmentistä ja sidosaineesta, oli maalaaminen kuin kehon ja sielun vuoropuhelua – värit ja muodot johdattivat minut syvemmälle sisäiseen maailmaani. Pigmenttimaalien käyttö ei ole pelkästään intuitiivista, vaan myös käytännöllistä. Maali valmistetaan yksinkertaisista aineksista, kuten sokerivedestä, kolajuomasta tai kahvista sokerilla. Pigmentit ovat hienojakoisia ja herkästi pölyäviä, mutta lopputulos on huumaavan kaunis. Värit hehkuvat ja niitä on helppo työstää halutunlaiseksi ilman rajoituksia. Maalausprosessi on vapauttavaa – käytän erilaisia välineitä ja runsaasti vettä, luoden arvaamattomia elementtejä teokseen.

Maalatessani liikun mieleni sisällä, antaen tunteiden ohjata liikkeitäni. Teokset syntyvät usein alitajunnan syvyyksistä, ja niiden keskeneräisyys heijastaa omaa käsitystäni maailmasta. Pidän keskeneräisyydestä – se antaa tilaa sekä taiteelle että katsojalle.

An Interactive Journey into the World of Pigments

Welcome on a journey into the world of pigment colours, where colours come to life and the painting process opens up to the core of my own creativity. Since last summer, I have been diving deep into the magic of self-made pigment paints, leaving traditional watercolours and oils more in the background. Pigments are the key to the origins of all colours, but their unique property is the ability to create your own.

My own journey into pigment paints began with my fine art studies, when I was introduced to pigments and their various binding agents. However, traditional binders did not seem to fit my artistic vision. When I painted, I wanted to merge into a process where body and mind meet, forgetting all the planning. Pigment paints offered this possibility.

After making the paint from pigment and binder, painting was like a dialogue between body and soul - the colours and shapes led me deeper into my inner world.

Using pigment paints is not only intuitive, but also practical. Paint is made from simple ingredients such as sugar water, cola drink or coffee with sugar. The pigments are fine and dusty, but the end result is stunningly beautiful. The colours glow and are easy to work into the desired shade with no restrictions. The painting process is liberating - I use a variety of mediums and plenty of water, creating unpredictable elements in the work.

As I paint, I move within my mind, allowing my emotions to guide my movements. The works often emerge from the depths of my subconscious, and their incompleteness reflects my own perception of the world. I like unfinished work - it gives space to both the art and the viewer.
